Scope
This Privacy Policy is effective to all information collected by our service from which an individual can be identified also it applies to all Personal Data received by acolono GmbH.
Types of Data collected and Data aggregation
We collect as little data as possible!
All data is anonymised if possible.
We retain the right to collect and use any Non Personal Information collected from your use of our service and aggregate such data for internal analytics that improve our services. At no time is your personally identifiable information included in such data aggregations.
For example want to have knowledge about the following:
- What articles/urls have been searched the most (requests to our API) using our tools.
- Which debunking organisations get the most links/referrals from our tools.
- Is our chatbot giving the right answers: For this we have an anonymized log of your questions and given answers.
Processing the Data
Methods of processing
We processes the Data of Users in a proper manner and take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorized destruction of the Data.
In some cases, the data is accessible to specific controllers involved with the operation of the system (administration, law, system administration) or external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, IT companies), appointed by the owner as a data processor.
Place
The Data is processed at our office and in any other places where the parties involved with the processing are located.
Retention time
The Data is kept for the time necessary to provide the service requested by the User.
The User can always request that the Data Controller suspend or remove the data.
Contact via form, email or chat
When contacting us (for example via contact form, e-mail or as part of our chat on the website) personal data are collected. Which data are collected in the case of a contact form can be seen from the respective contact form. This data is stored and used solely for the purpose of answering the request or for establishing contact and the associated technical administration. Your personal data will be deleted after final processing, if it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter in question has been finally clarified and provided that there are no legal storage requirements.

We provide links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by us. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. If you leave our site we encourage you to read the privacy policies of every website that collects personal data.
System logs and maintenance
Our services may collect files that record interaction with it (System logs) and use other Personal Data for this purpose.
Date and time of the visit to the website, the IP address, name and version of the web browser are stored in this System log file.
This is crucial for operation and maintenance purposes.

Our system does currently not fully support “Do Not Track” requests.
To determine whether any of the third party services it uses honor the “Do Not Track” requests, please read their privacy policies.
Chatbot
The Facebook-Bot is running on Facebook so we want to inform you, that Facebook itself says they use the submitted Data for a number of purposes including:
- Improving their services from a tech/usability perspective.
- Promoting safety and security, this includes verifying accounts are real etc.
- Improving their advertising services.
Facebook is a business and they make their money from advertising. If you don’t wan’t to use it on Facebook, you can move over to chat.hoax.ly, where we don’t track or use your data in any commercial way.
Facebook permissions asked by this Application
This Application may ask for some Facebook permissions allowing it to perform actions with the User's Facebook account and to retrieve information, including Personal Data, from it.

By default, this includes certain User’s Data such as id, name, picture, gender, and their locale. Certain connections of the User, such as the Friends, are also available. If the User has made more of their Data public, more information will be available.
Cloudflare
Some of our websites use Cloudflare, a global CDN and DNS service, to improve security.
Cloudflare provides web optimization and security services that improve and protect our websites, including a reverse proxy, pass-through security service, and a content distribution network. Because Cloudflare is a reverse proxy, Cloudflare's IP addresses may appear in WHOIS and DNS records for some of our websites.
Cloudflare may collect End Users’ information when they use our websites, web applications, and APIs. This information may include but is not limited to IP addresses, system configuration information, and other information about traffic to and from our websites (collectively, “Log Data”).
Cloudflare collects and uses Log Data to operate, maintain, and improve their services. For example, Log Data can help Cloudflare to detect new threats, identify malicious third parties, and provide more robust security protection for all website users.
